low stakes gambling in vegas Thought this could be handy to some people heading out there, especially at this time of year.
I'm a BE micro stakes donk who plays online for fun with some casino experience in London, UK, decided to head out to Vegas to see the sights and blow some money on live poker for the experience.
Spent some time googling before going because there are so many rooms that it can be tricky choosing one to play at, here's my take on it.
It also shows live wait list and how many tables are running that I found to be pretty accurate.
The app also details all of the promotions that the poker rooms run, for example how much you get paid for a royal etc.
Also - all drinks are free everywhere, including alcohol!
You just need to tip the cocktail waitresses.
They do, however, give you a free buffet when you play for fours hours or more which was awesome and I took advantage of a lot of times before eating and going elsewhere.
I was lucky enough to win it once.
Pretty active room with a here of tourists especially crazy on Saturday night after some MMA fight or something happened in the hotel but I did notice a lot of the same guys sipping water playing through the early hours feeding on the fish.
Side note - I've never seen so many insanely hot women in one place.
The poker room is just off from a nightclub and you get a steady stream of some of the world's most beautiful women stumbling out wearing next to nothing on weekend evenings.
There isn't really a room as such, it's just a load of tables in the centre of the casino.
Was one of the busier places, often 10+ tables running in evenings.
This is the kind of low stakes gambling in vegas that attracts guys buying in for the maximum wearing jewel encrusted watches on both wrists and showing their buddies sitting behind them their cards before shoving on a bluff.
The music brings a very noticeable tempo to the game, people play and bet insanely quickly and nearly everyone was drinking booze in the evenings, not really the place for old man nits.
Alas, the atmosphere got to me and I ended up getting pissed as a fart and dropping a lot so be careful if you get low stakes gambling in vegas up in atmospheres, great action room though, probably my favourite 'unique' experience.
Easy room with a lot of drunk tourists, I actually regret not coming back here and checking it out more.
Cash was full of people playing at the hotel and limping every hand but I only played a few hours on like a Wednesday morning so not sure what it's like in the evenings.
Didn't play much but seemingly everyone drinks and the games are fast and loose, definitely worth checking this place out.
It was a really nice room to play in and the casino was cool, I was going to give it another go but didn't get around to it, I assumed there must be a lot of fish if this many reg pros were playing.
Bellagio Really nice room and probably the most elegant casino in Vegas, twice tried getting in a game here but the waitlist was like an hour long both times 38 people!
Twice I showed up and gawped at Doyle Brunson like a tourist, also saw Negreanu as well.
Looked like a lot of big pros really do play here, they have a large selection of games including mixed and high stakes.
Kinda regret not sticking around and playing here just in the hopes of getting a table change somewhere near Bobby's room so I could lean over and watch those guys for an hour or so, I suspect I'm not the only one thinking like that.
Golden Nugget This is downtown so about a 30 minutes bus ride from the strip depending on traffic.
Quite a lot of tables in a tight room and it's the only poker room on Downtown I think?
Binions only had tourneys running IIRC so you get a lot of drunk tourists wandering in off of the Freemont street show.
I actually had my best session here after shoving the turn with a J on a 9TQK board and getting called by two people without a straight, this should tell you everything you need to know about the calibre of play.
Well hopefully this gives people an idea of what they're heading into, happy to answer other Vegas specific questions if anyone has any, I hardly slept and smashed the shit out of the city for a week so feel I picked up quite a bit about how it works now.
At one of my local casinos, the first person to take a break gets 45 min, second person gets 15 min, and the third person gets their chips picked up by the floor instantly and their seat is given away.
Oh, that makes more sense.
I hate it when I have to use the bathroom, but the Ameristar generally has wait lists of 20-40 people, so it's good at either keeping people low stakes gambling in vegas or leaving.
Yeah aria was somewhere I wanted to try along with low stakes gambling in vegas 5 others, probably that and the Wynn were my regrets but I only had so much time : The Wynn is.
It was set up in a way that beckoned the gambler like a blackjack table.
The couple of tables were right there with everything else that was the beautiful mess that place was.
I was at a table where a guy open shoved for 200 12 times in a row.
Most likely because those casinos especially at the low stakes have long waiting lists.
I agree but it also creates another scenario that is great for me.
The Venetian was great.
read article was in Vegas a couple months ago and did aria, click here and bellagio.
Tons of go here, but once I stuck around at the bellagio until like 2am and the table was full of regs.
Have to say Planet Hollywood sounds like an amazing place to play based on what you described.
Where were Doyle and Negreanu when you saw them at Bellagio?
Were they at the same table?
Yeah they were in bobbys room.
I did manage to get a sneaky picture of a cowboy hat in the distance!
I've heard the Flamingo is a great cardroom for beginners.
I've only ever really played with family and friends and I'm considering playing when I go to Vegas in July.
Can anybody vouch for that?
I'm getting in on Saturday, staying at the mirage for 3 nights.
Any chance you tried it out there?
I don't normally play with headphones, but I feel like maybe link would be worth it have some noise dampening ones to play at Planet Hollywood.
From memory music was pretty loud was very drunk for most link it but yeah I guess.
Iirc thus is between the hours of 10pm and 2am.
On either side of that it's still pretty loud but at least you can converse normally at your table instead of shouting to be heard.
I think it starts at 8 pm actually.
Additionally, there's a mexican restaurant near the poker area that has karaoke on the weekends that's blaringly loud so say the dealers.
How old are your notes?
Good luck next time LOL I played at MGM a couple of weeks ago, spot on.
Thank you OP for a great trip report.
I hope you get to come back to the states soon.
Hell, maybe you can even move to Vegas one day.
Huge room and never have to wait long for a table.
Deep stacks that bleed easy.
You're playing at different times and days which makes this all kinda lol sample size.
Of course there are 1k deep stacks are a table at 5AM.
They've been playing all night.
I agree but I can only go on the vibes on the rooms when I was there.
I've played 4 house tourneys at the Nugget over the last 2 years.
Won all 4 of them and I wouldn't consider myself an average player yet.
Doubled up at the tables a few times as well.
They also low stakes gambling in vegas an electronic roulette game with what I think amounted to a broken rule set, allowing you to place partial bets on the green.
I ended up with a pretty successful win rate on that thing.
It was my first live play and I was in town during the WSOP, so I figured it might be a bad time to be trying out my first game.
The amount of players who were extremely drunk, not paying attention, or just scared to death was shocking.
People were re-buying in pretty deep in the MTTs.
They'd still be short stacked at the table and almost immediately bust https://indonesiaairsoft.com/gambling/online-gambling-site-in-india.html again.
I can't wait to go back.
